About Watching the Upcoming Kennedy Center Honors
This morning I was leafing through a few magazines and making mental notes of things to do today. The TV was on just for background sounds. It was turned to CBS This Morning, an early morning news and interview show. I wasn't really paying attention to the show until I heard their reminder/ announcement about the upcoming airing of the Kennedy Center Honors 2013; which will be this Sunday night, December 29, after 60 Minutes. This will be the Kennedy Center's 36th annual awards ceremony. It will honor, as always, the highest in the arts in the United States of America. A few of my favorite artists, including musicians Herbie Hancock, Billy Joel, and Carlos Santana, and actress Shirley MacLaine will be honored with lifetime achievement awards. Opera singer Martina Arroyo will be honored as well. Arroyo was interviewed on the show this morning by musician Wynton Marsalis, CBS-This Morning's cultural correspondent. The Kennedy Center Honors on Sunday night will be one of those not-to-be-missed awards programs.
